Krug Wins Pair of Matches to Open ITA Regionals


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Duke women’s tennis freshman Ava Krug kicked off the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals Thursday at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill by winning a pair of singles matches to move on to the main draw.
 
Krug, a product of Sarasota, Fla., opened action Thursday morning with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lisa Kranec of Elon.  She then collected a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Alexandra Dodashev Enbert of UNC Greensboro to continue her run. 
 
The rest of the Blue Devils will commence play Friday in both singles and doubles action in the main draw beginning at 9 a.m. The full schedule is below.
