Cougar Tennis Set for Busy Weekend


PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Tennis team begins a busy week as it will send a small contingent to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic while the majority of the team remains in Pullman to host the WSU Hidden Duals event. Both tournaments run Sept. 27-29.
 
MILWAUKEE TENNIS CLASSIC
WSU will send junior Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy to the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Septe. 27-29 in Glendale, Wisc. The tournament will be held at the Nicole Tennis Center, with both women’s singles and doubles draws being contested there. WSU is one of 11 universities represented in the field, which features a 32-player singles draw and 16-team doubles bracket.
 
Friday, Sept. 27, will see the first two rounds of singles action contested along with the first round of doubles.

WSU HIDDEN DUALS
The Cougars host their only tournament of the fall with the WSU Hidden Duals, Sept. 27-29, at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts. In the hidden dual format, each match consists of singles against one opponent, and doubles against another.
 
The Cougar lineup will consist of senior Elyse Tse, junior Yura Nakagawa, sophomore Martina Markov and freshmen, Chisato Kanemaki, Martina Puvill and Madhu Satishbabu.

Friday (Sep 27th)
10am: Montana vs Idaho (Singles)
12pm: WSU vs Montana (Doubles); Portland vs Idaho (Doubles)
1pm : WSU vs Idaho (Doubles); Portland vs Montana (Doubles)
2pm: WSU vs Portland (Singles)
 
Saturday (Sep 28th)
10am: Portland vs Idaho (Singles)
12pm: WSU vs Portland (Doubles); Idaho vs Montana (Doubles)
1pm: WSU vs Montana (Singles)
 
Sunday (Sep 29th)
9am: Portland vs Montana (Singles)
11am: WSU vs Idaho (Singles)
