CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Tennis team has announced its 2024 fall schedule, featuring a challenging lineup of tournaments as the team looks to build momentum for the season.

The Tennis team welcomed six freshmen and three transfers. Graduate Sophia Hatton, the team’s sole returner, will lead the team this year as Clemson competes in various high-profile events, starting with the Furman Invite in Greenville, S.C., from September 13-15. Hatton finished her spring 2024 season leading the team in singles, going 19-13 overall, 16-6 dual, and 7-2 in ACC play. In doubles, Hatton went 18-15 overall, 16-9 dual, and 5-8 in ACC play.

In June, the Tennis Recruiting Network ranked the Clemson Women’s Fall 2024 class as No. 7 in the nation. This class is the highest-ranked class since 2012 (No. 7). With the roster now at 10, the Tigers are ready to succeed on the courts this upcoming year.

Other significant events in the schedule include the ITA All-Americans in Cary, N.C. (September 21-29) and the ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill, N.C. (October 17-21). The fall season wraps up with the newly formatted NCAA Individual Championships, set to take place in Waco, TX, from November 19-24. This marks a shift in NCAA postseason play, as the individual championships will now be held in the fall rather than during the spring season.

Head Coach Boomer Saia shared excitement for the season ahead, “This fall presents an incredible opportunity for our team to grow and compete at the highest level. With Sophia Hatton returning to lead the way and a group of high-caliber recruits, we’re confident in our ability to make strides throughout the Fall season.”
