The Nebraska men’s tennis team is making its mark in preseason national rankings, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on August 27. Husker returners Calvin Mueller and Anton Shepp, as well as junior transfer Joan Torres Espinosa have each earned spots in the Top 125 heading into the fall season. Mueller leads the Big Red in the rankings, at No. 31. The senior claimed All-Big Ten honors for the 2023-24 season and now holds the highest ITA ranking for the program since Christopher Aumueller in 2010.

The three Huskers are no stranger to the ITA rankings, as they all were ranked multiple weeks in the 2023-24 season. Torres Espinosa is ranked No. 63 and Shepp, No. 115. Mueller and Shepp also appear in the doubles preseason rankings at No. 34.

The Big Red take on fall individual competition beginning September 21 at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The rest of the fall schedule can be found here.
