Men’s singles tennis: Novak Djokovic beats Alcaraz to clinch his first Olympic gold

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic defeated his recent nemesis Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics at Roland Garros on August 4.

Djokovic won the match in straight sets 7-6, 7-6.

Both Djokovic and Alcaraz played some excellent tennis right from the word go. But the No.1 ranking player outclassed his opponent in crunch situations.

Djokovic added a gold medal apart from his 24 Grand Slam titles. He also became the oldest person to win a medal at the Olympics.
