CLEMSON, S.C. – After earning success on the court and in the classroom, eight Clemson tennis athletes earned academic honors as five women and three men were named ITA Scholar Athletes, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.

From the women’s tennis program, Sophia Hatton, Elena Louka, Lana Sipek, Alina Tsyurpalevych and Leigh Van Zyl all earned the honor while Stewart Aronson, Max Damm and Matt Pitts secured the honor from the men’s side.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one had to have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the 2023-24 academic year as 1,059 Division I Men and 1,573 Division I Women were named to the list.

Both the men and women’s tennis programs will be back in action this fall as the head coaches for each program are entering their second season at the helm.
