#8 Wolfpack Lays Down Louisville With a 7-0 Win


LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eighth-ranked NC State women’s tennis (14-2, 6-1 ACC) shut out Louisville (8-10, 0-8 ACC) to finish its streak on the road with a 7-0 win. 

Doubles action featured a new pairing in the number one spot as Nell Miller and Diana Shnaider took the court together for the first time. Their match resulted in a 6-4 victory that officially clinched the doubles point after Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli took the first win on court two with a 6-2 decision. Play on court three continued to result in a third doubles triumph for the Wolfpack from Gina Dittmann and Anna Zyryanova

Leading one zip moving into singles, Shnaider took the first singles win on court one with a near shutout over Louisville’s Andrea DiPalma 6-1, 6-0. Her win was quickly followed by another freshman on court six with Zyryanova finished 6-0, 6-2 over Maria Campos. 

Dittmann snagged the the fourth singles point on court four with the second near shutout match of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 conquest over Tyra Richardson. Abrams and Rencheli also picked up two set wins on courts three and two to push the team lead to 6-0. 

Miller finished up the day in only two sets like the rest of her teammates after she had to battle through a tiebreak in the second.

NC State will be returning home this coming Friday, March 31 to host a double header with No. 29 Syracuse at 2 p.m. and East Carolina at 6 p.m.
