RALEIGH – Fourth-ranked NC State women’s tennis (7-1, 1-0 ACC) welcomes Georgia Tech (7-2, 2-0 ACC) to Raleigh as they host their first home ACC tilt of the dual-match season. The match is set for 2 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Friday, March 3rd.

A week ago, the team snipped previously ranked No. 2 Ohio State is a nail biting 4-3 finish. Doubles wins came from Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki on court two and Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith on court one from a tiebreaker set.
In singles, Rajecki, Shnaider, and Smith fought for their points on courts one, two, and three to clinch the win for the program. Shnaider’s match on court one came down to the decision but she prevailed after pushing past a tiebreak set to snag the win.
Rankings Update:
NC State women’s tennis earned its way back into the top five after defeating previously ranked No. 2 Ohio State, earning their new ranking of No. 4.
The ITA released updated rankings for doubles and singles on Feb. 21 which increased its number of featured squad members. Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki remained at No. 5 in doubles for the second week in a row. Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith shot up into the top-25, as they landed at No. 23 after only two weeks of play together. In singles, five individual players found themselves in the rankings yet again with two of them being inside the top 25. Alana Smith (No. 15), Amelia Rajecki (No. 17), Abigail Rencheli (No. 51), Diana Shnaider (No. 52) and Sophie Abrams (No. 64) continue to boast the talent held among the program.

After Friday’s match, the show continues as they will host Clemson and East Tennessee State on Sunday, March 5 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m to round out the weekend.
