RALEIGH – Third-ranked NC State women’s tennis officially steps into the 2023 dual-match campaign this weekend as it prepares to travel to South Carolina for its first road trip test. Match time with the Gamecocks is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Last Time Out:

This past weekend, NC State battled opponents from No. 1 Texas, No. 20 Vanderbilt and the ACC host Miami at the Miami Spring Invitational. In addition to securing 10 singles victories, each of the doubles pairs representing the Wolfpack also picked up at least one win. The dynamic doubles pair coming into the season, No. 8 Miller and Rajecki went undefeated for the weekend.

Ranked Pack:

After starting the preseason ranking at number three in the country, the Pack remained steady holding that spot after participating in the Miami Spring Invitational.  The Wolfpack boasts several members found in the singles and doubles rankings. Among the top 25 in singles following fall play are Alana Smith (No.13), Amelia Rajecki (No. 23), and Abigail Rencheli (No. 25), with Sophie Abrams (No. 97) rounding out the top 100. In doubles, Rajecki and Miller are No. 8, in addition to Rencheli and Abrams at No. 60 among those rankings.

Coming Up Next:

After this match, the Wolfpack is scheduled to stay at home and host the ITA Kick-off Weekend for the fourth year in a row. Taking place on Jan. 28 and 29, the tournament will feature Illinois, Vanderbilt and Furman.
