CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Promotions surrounding Illinois women’s tennis’ nine-match 2023 home schedule have been announced and features numerous giveaways and themed outings. Admission to regular season matches at Atkins Tennis Center is free.
The Orange and Blue’s home-opening weekend, Feb. 3 and 5, features a Back in Atkins outing on Friday before free bagels and coffee are provided ahead of Sunday’s 11 AM match.
A week later, fans can celebrate Super Sunday with the Illini as Illinois State comes to town on Sunday, Feb. 12., which is also Super Bowl Sunday. There will be free wings and pizza for fans and a tailgate set will be raffled off.
In their third-straight weekend with at least one home match, the Illini will host Xavier on Feb. 17 for Diversity and Inclusion Day. There will be free popcorn as well as diversity and inclusion poster and koozie giveaways. Two days later, Penn State comes to town the Illini’s Big Ten home opener, which will feature BTN activation and a BTN beanie giveaway.
Following six weeks on the road, the Illini return to host Michigan State on March 31 for a Color the Court promotion that will feature women’s tennis themed coloring pages. Michigan will visit on Sunday, April 2 for Pack Atkins. The match will be filled with promotions as free tennis ball popper toys will be handed out, there will be a kids clinic following the match and a tennis-themed patch will be available for scouts.
Two weekends later, Illinois will close its regular-season home schedule when Nebraska and Iowa come to town on April 22-23, respectively. Saturday’s match against the Huskers will be the team’s Bark in the Park outing while the next day will be Senior Day.
