GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia’s Iñaki Montes has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and highlights the 2022 All-ACC Teams.

The honors, announced Thursday, were determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

NC State’s Luca Staeheli was named the Freshman of the Year, and Virginia’s Andres Pedroso was selected as the Coach of the Year.

Montes helped lead Virginia to the 2022 NCAA title and finished the season as the league’s top ranked singles player at No. 12 in the ITA rankings. An ITA All-American, the Pamplona, Spain native advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship and posted a 22-5 singles record, including a 6-0 mark against players ranked in the top 25.

Staeheli played primarily at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions to help lead the Wolfpack to a No. 18 final ranking.
