20 incredible photos from 20 singles Grand Slam wins

Roger Federer is calling it a career — and what an incredible one it has been with 20 Grand Slam wins and 103 singles titles in 24 years as a pro on his way to becoming one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

He — along with fellow greats Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic — helped usher in a golden age of men’s tennis as the Big Three dominated, while the other two were often playing catchup to Federer. The 41-year-old Swiss player’s 20 major titles were once the record in men’s tennis, but that now belongs to Nadal with 22, while Djokovic has 21.

Federer’s career has been so long and remarkable that it’s easy to forget all the accolades beyond the top marks, like winning Wimbledon five straight times from 2003 to 2007 or winning the U.S. Open five consecutive times between 2004 and 2008. Just astonishing.

So while there are no more Grand Slam matches in his future, here’s a look back at all 20 victories he racked up throughout his illustrious career.
