Wildcats Start Their ITA Kickoff Weekend

ATHENS, GA.– Arizona completed day one of the ITA Kickoff weekend with a final score of 1-4 against South Carolina Friday, Sat. 26.

Senior/Freshman duo, Kayla Wilkins and Teja Tirunelveli, earned Arizona the first doubles victory towards putting the point on the board for the Wildcats 6-0. However, the doubles point was secured by South Carolina as pairs Reece Carter/Martyna Ostrzygalo and Bradelyn Fugenzi/Lauren Friedman were defeated 6-3, 6-0 on courts one and two.

The first singles match win went to South Carolina as No.6 Ayana Akii won her match 6-1, 6-1 against Carter in the No. 1 doubles spot. Tanvi Narendran fought for the Cats defeating her opponent in a straight-set victory 6-1, 6-4. After her win the scoreboard showed South Carolina leading 2-1.
