Virginia Sweeps ACC Men's Tennis Weekly Awards


GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia’s Chris Rodesch swept the ACC Men’s Tennis Weekly Awards earning ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, and teamed with Bar Botzer to earn ACC Doubles Team of the Week.

Rodesch went a combined 4-0 record last week leading the ninth-ranked Cavaliers to 4-0 and 7-0 sweeps over Liberty and 11th-ranked Baylor, respectively. The Angelsburg, Luxembourg native took down No. 23 Finn Bass of Baylor at the No. 1 singles spot, 6-2, 6-2. He also notched a 6-2, 6-4 win against Liberty.

The doubles team of Rodesch and Bar Botzer also picked up a ranked win, topping the third-ranked doubles team in the country of Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi in a tiebreaker 7-6 (6) to clinch the doubles point for Virginia. They also posted a 6-2 doubles win over Liberty in the No. 1 spot.
