CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 11 Virginia women’s tennis team (10-3, 3-1 ACC) and the No. 12 Virginia men’s tennis team (12-4, 4-0 ACC) are both home this weekend, hosting matches on Friday and Sunday, March 17 and 19, at the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va.

FRIDAY, MARCH 17

  • 12:30 p.m. – Virginia men vs. No. 9 North Carolina (11-4, 3-0 ACC)
  • 4:30 p.m. – Virginia women vs. No. 24 Notre Dame (10-5, 1-3 ACC)

SUNDAY, MARCH 19

  • 10:30 a.m. – Virginia women vs. Louisville (8-6, 0-4 ACC)
  • 2:30 p.m. – Virginia men vs. No. 13 Duke (10-4, 3-0 ACC)

MATCH INFORMATION

  • All of the matches are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort. Please monitor the team’s social media accounts for potential weather-related venue changes
  • Live streaming and live scoring will be available through links posted on VirginiaSports.com
  • Admission is free

TEAM NOTES

  • Virginia rose one spot in this week’s ITA computerized team rankings this week to No. 1 Singles and doubles rankings update again next Tuesday (March 21)
  • Chris Rodesch is 25 in the ITA Singles rankings. Jeffrey von der Schulenburg is No. 32 and Iñaki Montes is No. 37
  • Ryan Goetz and Alex Kiefer both bring four-match win streaks in singles into the weekend
  • Goetz is 11-2 in dual matches this spring
  • Von der Schulenburg also has double-digit dual match single victories with a 10-3 record
  • Von der Schulenburg and Kiefer are 8-4 in doubles in dual matches
  • Virginia has won 30 straight matches in ACC play and 37 straight matches against ACC opponents. UVA’s last loss against an ACC team was a 4-2 loss against North Carolina during the 2021 ITA National Team Indoor Championship. UVA’s last conference loss was a pre-pandemic 4-3 loss at Louisville on Jan. 18, 2020
  • The Cavaliers and Tar Heels have met in the last two ACC Championship finals with UVA winning each by a 4-3 final score. Montes clinched both championship matches for the Cavaliers
