Vanderbilt Men's Tennis | Southward Bound for SEC Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Commodores travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the SEC Men’s Tennis Championship tournament this week. Having finished 10th in the SEC, Vanderbilt will face No. 7 seed Florida on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The Dores concluded the regular season with a 13-11 overall record, having gone 4-8 against SEC opponents. Vanderbilt defeated No. 44 LSU on Friday and fell 4-3 to No. 35 Georgia on Sunday. Vandy enters the tournament sitting at No. 40 in the ITA national rankings, with Commodore Danil Panarin ranked No. 61 in singles.

Florida (12-10, 6-6 SEC) enters postseason play after a 3-4 loss to Arkansas on Friday and a 4-0 victory over South Carolina Sunday. In the latest ITA national rankings, Florida sits at No. 25, with one Gator student-athlete ranked individually alongside two doubles teams.

Last year, the Commodores advanced to the tournament quarterfinals for the first time in three seasons, defeating No. 13 seed Arkansas 4-1. Vanderbilt fell in the next round to No. 5 seed Texas A&M.
