SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women’s tennis team is set to open the spring slate with a doubleheader at home, hosting Utah Tech and Montana State on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes will play 11 home matches this season for their inaugural Big 12 season. Click here to view the full schedule.
Following the season opener, Utah will head to Palo Alto, Calif. for the ITA Kickoff, facing Ole Miss (Jan. 24) and Memphis (Jan. 25). The Utes return home for a doubleheader against Utah State and Idaho State on Feb. 7, followed by a matchup with Memphis on Feb. 11. Utah will then travel to San Diego to take on SDSU on Feb. 14.
Conference play begins on the road in Arizona with matches against Arizona State (Feb. 27) and Arizona (Mar. 1). The Utes will host Texas Tech (Mar. 6) and Colorado (Mar. 8) before heading out for three road matches, including a rivalry showdown at BYU (Mar. 15) and contests against West Virginia (Mar. 20) and Cincinnati (Mar. 22).
The Utes will close out the regular season with home matches against Kansas (Mar. 27), Iowa State (Mar. 29), Houston (Apr. 10), and UCF (Apr. 12), while wrapping up their road schedule with trips to Oklahoma State (Apr. 3) and Kansas State (Apr. 5).
The 2025 Big 12 Championships are set for April 16-20 in Waco, Texas.
HEAD COACH RUTHANN ALLEN
The Utah women’s tennis team welcomes Ruth Ann Allen as head coach this season. A Utah native and a Utah All-American and Hall of Famer, Allen returns to lead the program after a successful tenure as head coach at Weber State. She guided the Wildcats to a Big Sky Championship in 2023 and was twice named Big Sky Coach of the Year (2022, 2023).
Before Weber State, Allen spent 20 seasons as an assistant coach at Utah, where she helped the Utes secure multiple NCAA Tournament bids, two Mountain West Conference titles, and numerous top-five regional rankings. Allen, an All-American during her playing career at Utah, was inducted into the Utah Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2023.
