Utah Men's Tennis Set to Start Inaugural Big 12 Season


SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men’s tennis team is gearing up for the 2025 season, opening at home with a doubleheader against Idaho State on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes will compete in 11 home matches this season as they look to make their mark in the Big 12. Click here to view the full schedule.

Utah starts the season with two matches against Idaho State (Jan. 25) before hitting the road for three contests in Seattle, facing Washington (Jan. 31), North Florida (Feb. 1), and Portland (Feb. 2). The Utes return home to host Arizona State on Feb. 8 before traveling to Los Angeles for matchups with Cal Poly (Feb. 15) and LMU (Feb. 16).

The Utes will continue their road slate at the Battle in Boro Tournament Feb. 21-23 before returning to host Denver (Mar. 2). March kicks off a packed schedule starting with the San Diego Invite (Mar. 7-9), and then two road matches against Texas Tech (Mar. 13) and Oklahoma State (Mar. 15).

 Utah will host a doubleheader against UNLV and Weber State on Mar. 19, followed by home matches against UCF (Mar. 23), Baylor (Mar. 27), and TCU (Mar. 29). The Utes close out the regular season with a road trip to Arizona (Apr. 3) and a rivalry match at BYU (Apr. 11).

Postseason action begins with the Big 12 Championships, set for Apr. 16-20 in Waco, Texas.

HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU

Utah Head Coach Roeland Brateanu, the 2023 Pac-12 Coach of the Year and a five-time ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year, leads the Utes for his eleventh season this spring. Under Brateanu’s leadership, the Utah men captured the 2023 Pac-12 Regular Season title and secured their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, advancing to its second consecutive second round appearance with a win over Old Dominion. The Utes finished with a 24-6 overall record and a No. 1 ranking in the ITA Mountain Region. Brateanu currently holds a 183-106 overall record at Utah.
