Uslu wraps up freshman season in Round of 32


ORLANDO, Fla. – Virginia Tech’s Ozlem Uslu fell in the second round of the NCAA Championships on Tuesday to No. 12 Ayana Akli (South Carolina) 6-0, 6-1.
 
The result caps off the season for No. 54 Uslu, who became the first Tech women’s tennis player to reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament since Inga Beerman (2006) with a 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 39 Kylie Collins. 
 
In her freshman campaign, Uslu posted a 17-6 record, including six ranked wins.
