Trojan Lily Fairclough To Represent USC Women's Tennis at Bakersfield Women's Open

LOS ANGELES – USC Women’s Tennis sophomore Lily Fairclough is headed just a few hours north this week as the Trojan is set to compete in the singles main draw of the ITF (International Tennis Federal) Bakersfield Women’s 35K beginning Tues., Oct. 8 at the Bakersfield Racquet Club. The championship final is scheduled to take place on Sun., Oct. 13. 

Fairclough, a sophomore from Perth, Western Australia, joined the Trojans during the spring of 2024 and contributed heavily in doubles play. This season, she is 2-1 in singles play, having most recently gone 2-0 at the Women of Troy Invite. 

The 19-year-old Fairclough (Australia) will face No. 3 seed Sahaja Yamalapalli (India) tomorrow, Oct. 8 in the first round of the singles main draw.

Trojan All-Americans Alum Eryn Cayetano and Salma Ewing are also set to compete at the event this week.
