Tigers Sweep Boston College and College of Charleston – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – In their fourth doubleheader of the season, the Clemson Tigers secured a complete sweep as they took down Boston College and the College of Charleston, 7-0. Following the win over the Eagles, the Tigers earned their first conference-play win of the 2024 campaign. 

“Glad our guys were able to take care of business today,” Head Coach Brandon Wagner said. “They all had great attitudes and competed well. I know they are all eager for another great shot at getting the job done at home against some great ACC teams very soon.”

Clemson 7, Boston College 0 

The Tigers brought the energy early as they were quick to clinch the doubles point to take the 1-0 lead. On court three, the freshman duo of Marko Mesarovic and Stewart Aronson recorded a quick 6-1 victory over Bennett Turner and Jake Vassel to tab the first doubles win of the match.

Clinching the point for Clemson was the No. 62 ranked Noa Vukadin and Max Smith as they downed Boston College’s Juan Jose Bianchi and Caleb Saltz, 6-1.

Clemson continued to dominate in singles as Mesarovic was the first to earn a victory after taking down Vassel, 6-3, 6-4 to increase the Tigers lead. Following Mesarovic was Matt Pitts as he defeated Matthew Overvelde  7-5, 7-5 to secure a win on court six and give Clemson the 3-0 advantage.

Ryuhei Azuma recorded a comeback victory on court two as he was able to take down Saltz (3-6, 6-1, 7-5) in three-sets to come back from a 3-6 loss in the first set. Freshman Noa Vukadin was next to earn a singles win as he topped Boston College’s Will Kasten 7-5, 7-5; Aronson followed by securing an impressive 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 1-0 (10-2) victory over Mai Gao which marked his third singles win in a throw.

Securing the overall sweep for Clemson was all-star freshman Wissam Abderrahman as the No. 75 ranked Tiger tabbed a 7-6 (7-3), 6-7, 1-0 (10-4) win over Boston College’s Juan Jose Bianchi. The win marked Abderrahman’s third-straight victory in singles.

With the win over the Eagles, the Tigers recorded their first conference-play victory of the 2024 spring season.

Clemson 7, College of Charleston 0

In doubles, the unstoppable freshman pairing of Mesarovic and Aronson were the first to earn a win for the second match in a row as they defeated Zac Larke and Brolin Dorsey, 6-3 on court three.

A few moments later, the duo of Abderrahman and Max Damm recorded a 6-3 win over Matias Gaedechens and JD Rojas to secure the doubles point for Clemson and give them the 1-0 advantage…
