Tennis Takes On Illinois In Champaign-Urbana for Braggin’ Rights


COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri tennis team continues its road stint to open the 2024 season, traveling to Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini on Sunday, Jan. 14. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. CT. 

Missouri dropped its season opener 5-2 at Grand Canyon on Jan. 9. The No. 16 doubles pair in the country, senior Mae Canete and junior Inah Canete started the season 1-0, as did the Tigers No. 3 duo of graduate student Emelie Schwarte and sophomore Andrea Artimedi. Additionally, Artimedi secured a win at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). 

Illinois will open its 2024 season with a doubleheader matchup against Missouri and Eastern Illinois at the Atkins Tennis Center. Fans can tune in and watch the action here
