Tennis Drops Decision to No. 50 Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team (8-4, 0-2 B1G) dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 50 Purdue (10-1, 1-0. B1G) on Saturday afternoon to round out its Big Ten road opening weekend.  

 

Doubles 

Purdue started the match off strong with wins on the first and third doubles courts to secure the first point of the day. Action on the second court with close as the unfinished contest ended with a score of 5-4 when play was suspended.  

 

Singles 

 

The Boilermakers carried their strong play into singles, winning all seven matches.  

Mai Nguyen battled on court No. 4, taking her match to three sets. Michae Kim also forced a tiebreak in her second set, but ultimately fell on the last court.
