Tennis Downed by No. 75 Indiana in B1G Road Opener

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team (8-3, 0-1 B1G) fell to No. 75 Indiana (9-4, 1-2 B1G) on Friday afternoon, 6-1, on the road to kick off Big Ten play.  

The Hoosiers secured the doubles point before collecting wins on five of six singles courts en route to the match victory.  

Doubles 

Indiana won the double point to start off action. The Hoosiers picked up wins on courts No. 1 and No. 3 to solidify the win, while play on court No. 2 went unfinished.

Singles 

IU continued to succeed in singles play, winning all but one match. RU battled however, pushing four matches to three sets.

Amira Badawi picked up the lone singles win for Rutgers with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory on the third court. She is now 5-1 this spring and 3-1 on court No. 3.

  6. Rose Hu (IND) def. Chloe Brown (RU) 6-1, 6-1

Rutgers will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana to face NO. 50 Purdue on March 11 at 12 p.m.
