The Lead: After a 4-0 win over No. 3 Georgia yesterday, the North Carolina Tar Heels will face ACC foe and fourth-ranked NC State in the NCAA National Championship match at the United States Tennis Association’s national campus in Orlando, Florida at 5:30 p.m.
A win would give North Carolina its first national championship.
NC State defeated UNC for its lone loss of the season in the ACC Championship match.
Against Georgia, Fiona Crawley won her 120th singles match as a Tar Heel. She is now in sole possession of sixth place in all-time singles victories at UNC.
From the Notes: The last time UNC was in the national championship match was in 2014. The Tar Heels fell 3-4 to the UCLA Bruins.
NC State defeated Stanford 4-0 in the NCAA Semifinals.
The NC State women are also in pursuit of their first national championship.
The Wolfpack lineup is made up of two ranked doubles pairs and four ranked players in singles.
