NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis will compete in the first-ever Universal Tennis National Invitational Tennis Championship in Peachtree City, Georgia this weekend.

The top-seeded Commodores will face No. 8 Reinhardt University in the first round of the tournament on Thursday at 7 a.m. CT. The quarterfinal matchup will be the first-ever meeting of the Dores and the Eagles.

Reinhardt finished the season 10-4 overall, going 8-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. After the season, Reinhardt seniors Luciano Fisicaro and Pau Pujadas were named to the AAC First Team, while rookie Federico Zeiter was named to the conference All-Freshman Team.

The tournament will feature eight men’s teams (Army, Denver, Liberty, Reinhardt, The Citadel, UC Davis, UC San Diego and Vanderbilt) and eight women’s teams (Appalachian State, Cal Poly, Colorado, CSUN, Stetson, TCU, UC San Diego and Wyoming), with each team guaranteed two matches.

All matches will be aired on Amazon Prime Video, free for Prime members. More information is on the tournament website.

The winner of the Vanderbilt/Reinhardt match will play the winner of the UC Davis/Army contest in the semifinals on Friday.
