No. 24 Wisconsin competes against Georgia Tech


CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 24 Wisconsin women’s tennis took on Georgia Tech in the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by the University of Virginia on Friday, Jan. 26.

The Badgers dropped its first dual of the season to the Yellow Jackets, 4-3.

UW battled through doubles, but the point ultimately went it favor of Georgia Tech, 2-0.

Alina Mukhortova notched the first point for the Badgers at No. 2 singles, taking down her opponent in two sets. The Yellow Jackets fought back to tie the match 3-3 with Ariel Johnson being the deciding factor. She battled through three sets and a tiebreak to drop the match, 4-3.
