The University of North Carolina men’s tennis team, ranked 10th nationally in this week’s Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, will play a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference road matches this weekend. The Tar Heels will visit No. 40 Notre Dame on Friday at 4 p.m. and No. 20 Louisville on Sunday noon.

This weekend’s action is part of six consecutive ACC road matches for Carolina as it awaits the conclusion of construction on its new outdoor courts and stadium at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The Tar Heels’ only home match in the next four weekends will come on March 12 against Wofford. Prior to this stretch, UNC’s first seven and eight of its first 11 matches were played in Chapel Hill.

Carolina is 8-4 overall this season and has climbed into the national top 10 with a strong performance in the non-conference portion of its schedule. UNC played five top-20 opponents in its first 11 matches, beating No. 13 Harvard and No. 16 Florida and dropping two tight, 4-3 decisions to South Carolina, which is ranked sixth in this week’s ITA poll.

The Tar Heels started conference play with a dominant, 6-1 over Boston College in Chapel Hill last weekend on Sunday February 26.
