DURHAM – No. 15 Duke men’s tennis hosts Yale and No. 11 Kentucky for two additional out-of-conference matches inside Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center this weekend.

 

The Blue Devils welcome the Bulldogs on Friday at 5 p.m. before hosting the Wildcats on Sunday at noon. Parking is available in the Blue Zone. To view the map, click HERE (PDF). Both contests will be Royal Blue matches, while Sunday is also scheduled as the Blue Devils’ Centennial event.

One Duke singles player and one doubles pair were ranked by the ITA in its most recent listing. Sophomore Pedro Rodenas placed No. 47 in singles, while the doubles duo of graduate students Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang rank No. 11.

All home Duke tennis matches are free admission.

 

General public parking will be available in the blue zone, with the easiest entrance being at the south end of the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. ADA parking is available in the Card Lot with an accessible entrance available on the north end of the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. Guests with disabilities will be able to use the elevator indoors to go up to the seating level. The newly renovated addition to the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center will be accessible via a mulched path on the northwest side of the building. Guests will then be able to use the elevator to go to the seating level.

HISTORY WITH YALE

Friday’s contest will be the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs with the Blue Devils holding the 4-1 edge on the series. The last time these two teams faced off was March 23, 1988, when Duke claimed a 6-0 at a neutral site in Irvine, California. The Blue Devils are riding a two-match winning streak over the Bulldogs.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs bring an undefeated record into Friday’s match following 7-0 victories over Temple and Purdue last weekend. Senior Theo Dean is the lone Yale player listed in the recent ITA singles rankings with the Livermore, California, native coming in at No. 73. He holds a 9-2 overall record, including a 2-0 dual mark on the top court.
