Detkovskaya Joining Huskies For 2023-24


SEATTLE – Washington has added a big piece to next season’s roster as Head Coach Robin Stephenson announced the signing of graduate transfer Dariya Detkovskaya today. Detkovskaya played high in the lineup for San Diego State this past season, and prior to that she spent three years at Oklahoma State.
 
Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan, Detkovskaya is the second new Husky for 2023-24 along with incoming freshman Alexia Jacobs.
 
This past season for the Aztecs, Detkovskaya played No. 2 and No. 3 singles, going 18-8 overall on the year and 11-4 in dual singles matches. She had big dual wins over players from USC, California, Alabama, San Diego, and Purdue. She also ended the season playing No. 1 doubles for the Aztecs. She won the doubles title at the USD Collegiate Invitational in the fall of 2022.
 
Detkovskaya spent three years at Oklahoma State from 2019-22. During the 2021 season she was 9-7 in dual singles matches between the No. 2 and No. 4 spots. She had gotten off to a 4-3 start as a freshman in 2020 at No. 5 singles when the season was canceled. During the 2022 season, Detkovskaya played primarily doubles, going 7-7, including a win to clinch the doubles point over UCLA in the NCAA second round. She was named Academic All-Big 12 First Team and an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
 
She has an ITF World Tennis Number of 11.7.
