Bulldogs Conclude First Fall Tournament


CHAMPAIGN, Ill., – Mississippi State men’s tennis concluded its first event of the fall on Tuesday.

Following an opening round win on Monday, freshman Radomir Tomic bowed out of the ITF Champaign 15K in the second round of qualifying with a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Russian Semen Pankin.

Tomic enjoyed a straight-set victory during his first match representing the Bulldogs over Australian Jeremy Zhang 6-1, 6-3 to begin the tournament. No. 68 Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez also participated at the event held on the campus of Illinois as is MSU’s volunteer assistant coach from last season, Kareem Allaf.

Next up for the Bulldogs will be a trip to Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sept. 22-24.
