Aztecs No Match for No. 22 Men's Tennis


SAN DIEGO– In their opening match of the Ed Collins Classic, No. 22 Arizona State men’s tennis (11-5) defeated San Diego State (8-3) 4-1. The Sun Devils are in the winner’s bracket, which has them facing the winner of today’s No. 26 Princeton/Tulane matchup tomorrow, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. MST. 

The Sun Devils clinched the doubles point against the Aztecs and had a 1-0 lead headed into singles. The duo of Murphy Cassone and Jacob Bullard have won their last four doubles matches including today’s 6-2 victory.

Max McKennon and Bor Artnak each picked up singles wins in straight sets, while Daniel Phillips fell in straight sets. Jacob Bullard clinched the match with his win in the third position, which kept ASU in the winners bracket of the Ed Collins Classic.
