TEMPE, Ariz. – UCLA women’s tennis earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition for the sixth consecutive year Monday from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Individually, six Bruins were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Awards were presented solely for the 2022-23 academic year and did not take into account cumulative grade-point averages (GPAs). In order for a team to receive the All-Academic honor, it must have turned in a GPA of 3.2 or better. Scholar-Athletes held GPAs of 3.5 and above.
Caroline Goldberg and Sasha Vagramov completed their senior campaigns as four-time Scholar-Athletes. Vanessa Ong became a three-time honoree, while Ava Catanzarite joined the club for the second time. Rounding out the list were freshmen Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and Fangran Tian. Each of the six student-athletes has made the cut every year she has been eligible.
Catanzarite, Ong, Vagramov and Elise Wagle previously received academic accolades in May, when each was tabbed to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis Team for Division I.
