New New – Men’s Tennis will debut two new faces this weekend in their home opener. Barcelona native Iñaki Cabrera signed with Arizona last November, and University of Miami transfer Casper Christensen of Oslo, Norway signed in December. These two additions will surely amplify the already stacked squad.

In the ITA Ranks – In the first of five ITA Coaches Polls, Arizona came in at No. 15 in the top 25 team rankings – the same spot they started in last spring. The team finished the 2022 season at No. 16. The Wildcats were the only D1 tennis team to have six players ranked in the ITA top 125 (as of Nov. 16, 2022): No. 19 Jonas Ziverts, No. 54 Herman Hoeyeraal, No. 74 Nick Lagaev, No. 78 Jay Friend, No. 85 Colton Smith and No. 117 Gustaf Strom

Coming Up – The Cats head to Austin, Texas for ITA Kickoff weekend Jan. 28-29 where they’ll compete against Florida Atlantic University in round one and then either No. 8 Texas or Cal Berkeley in the following round.
