Vols Wrap Up Hagedorn Hidden Dual

SAN DIEGO – Tennessee men’s tennis recorded seven wins against Baylor and LSU to wrap up the Hagedorn Hidden Dual, hosted by the University of San Diego at Skip and Cindy Tennis Center.
Johannus Monday and Angel Diaz collected the first doubles win of the day, routing LSU’s Hotard and Dong, 6-3. Filip Pieczonka and Shunsuke Mitsui logged a 6-3 triumph over Latinovic and Dong, notching a perfect 3-0 doubles record on the weekend. James Newton and Filip Apltauer dropped a hard-fought match to Baylor’s Frantzen and Miladnovich, 6-7(4).
On the singles courts, Tennessee took five first sets over members of LSU and Baylor. Monday battled back after dropping the first set to beat LSU’s Rudy Ceccon, 2-6,6-0,6-2. Apltauer defeated Brostom of Baylor, 6-3, 6-4, while Mitsui was assertive in a 6-4, 6-2, win over Latinovic (LSU). Pieczonka rounded out the singles victories, defeating Julien Penzlin (LSU), 6-4, 6-1.
