SALT LAKE CITY – The ITA announced its regional rankings Friday morning with Utah coming in at No. 1 in the Mountain Region and several individuals placing in the Top 20.
Utah placed five individuals in the Top 20 in the mountain region, the most individuals on the list from the same school. Utah’s claimed the top tree spots with Geronimo Espin Buleiman a top the list sitting at No. 1, while Franco Capalbo was No. 2 and Francisco Bastias was No. 3.
Patrik Trhac was ranked No. 7 while Berk Bugarikj was No. 15.
Utah had all three doubles teams ranked in the Top 10. Bugarikj and Trhac were No. 1 Busleiman and Capalbo were ranked No. 2 while Bastias and Bruno Caula were five. Utah also had the most doubles teams from a single school ranked.
Utah finished this season with a 24-6 overall record and a 6-2 Pac-12 record. Utah claimed the Pac-12 Regular Season title and made it to the championship match in the Pac-12 tournament for the first time in school history. Utah also made an appearance at the NCAA Tournament and picked up a first round win.
Utah went undefeated against mountain region schools this year with a 5-0 record and wins over Weber State, Utah State, BYU, Denver and New Mexico.
