The Utah men’s tennis program returns to the Eccles Tennis Center this weekend for two matches to continue conference play. After facing Oregon and Washington, the Utes will face Stanford and Cal on Friday and Sunday.

Coach Roeland Brateanu continues to lead the Utah team through another successful spring season, coming in as the No.40 team in the nation according to the most recent ITA publications. Geronimo Espin Busleiman and Franco Capalbo continue to hold the No. 56 and No.85 in singles competition respectively. Patrik Trhac and Berk Bugarikj currently hold the No.26 sport in doubles play.
SCOUTING STANFORD
Stanford currently holds a 10-5 overall record. Their most recent matchups were against Arizona State and BYU. The Arizona State match resulted in a 4-1 win for Stanford, and the competition against the Cougars also resulted in a 5-2 victory for Stanford. The last time the Utes faced the Stanford team was during the 2022 spring season. The math, which was played in Calif., resulted in a 0-4 loss for the Utes.
SCOUTNG THE GOLDEN BEARS
Cal currently holds a 9-6 overall record. The team most currently faced Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara. Both matches resulted in 3-4 losses for the Golden Bears. The last time the Utes faced Cal was during the 2022 spring season, in a match played at Cal resulting in a 2-5 loss for Utah.
