LAKE NONA, Fla. – USC men’s tennis standouts Stefan Dostanic and Peter Makk fell to their respective opponents during the opening round of the Men’s NCAA Singles Championship on Monday, May 22 at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus.

During the afternoon, Dostanic fell short of redemption, falling to a familiar foe in Michigan’s No. 8 ranked Ondrej Styler. Styler took the match 7-6 (10), 6-2 to advance.

After over a five hour delay, sophomore Peter Makk finally took to the courts around 11:30 p.m. EST. Makk would put up a fight but fall short, losing 7-6(4), 6-2 to Virginia’s Chris Rodesch just after 1 a.m. EST.

Tomorrow, Dostanic and partner Bradley Frye will compete in the opening round of the NCAA Doubles Championship, taking on Florida’s William Grant and Axel Nefve at a time to be announced.
