USC Men’s Tennis Signs International Standouts Nathan Trouve and Matteo Morazzi

Men’s Tennis | December 09, 2024

LOS ANGELES – USC men’s tennis’s roster will now include nine athletes heading into the 2025 spring season, with the addition of the doubles pairing of Nathan Trouve (France) and Matteo Morazzi (Spain), head coach Brett Masi announced Monday, Dec. 9.

The Trojans welcome two of the best players in juniors as Trouve peaked at No. 25 in the ITF rankings. Morazzi climbed as high as No. 96 in the latest ITF rankings (Dec. 2). As a pairing, the two recently came off a win in their second tournament together this season, as they won the J300 Bradenton on Dec. 8 in Bradenton, Fla.

“These were two massive finds for our program. Both Matteo and Nathan are incredible players with huge potential,” Masi said. “They are going to be a major impact immediately this spring and have a huge imprint on this program.”

Trouve has recorded two tournament titles during his junior career, one in 2024 and one in 2023. The French native recently picked up his second title at the J300 Casablanca and has a record of 29-15 in 2024.

“I am incredibly excited to officially be a part of the Trojan family, can’t wait to meet the team and get some wins together. Fight on Trojans,” Trouve said.

Matteo brought two titles to the table in 2024, as he won the J60 Alicante and J100 Antalya. The Spaniard is 49-22 in singles and 41-14 in doubles during the 2024 campaign.

“I’m excited to be part of this incredible family and to be able to spend the next years in the team. Can’t wait to play as a Trojan and be as helpful as possible for USC,” Morazzi said.

“Both boys embody what it means to be a Trojan, and the coaching staff can’t wait to get them here to join their teammates,” Masi said.
