CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Members of Tennessee’s men’s tennis team collectively recorded 11 singles wins this weekend at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, hosted by Chattanooga at the Champions Club Tennis Complex.
Thursday featured freshman James Newton’s 6-1, 6-3 singles victory over Butler’s Rahulniket Konakanchi, while freshmen Filip Apltauer collected his first win on Friday, routing Belmont’s Diego Castro in 6-4, 6-2 fashion.
Members of the Vols swept on the singles courts on Saturday, highlighted by Chris Li’s perfect 3-0 record on the day, defeating members of Louisville, MTSU and Ball State.
To wrap up Regionals play, Li, Newton and Apltauer all picked up victories over members of Xavier on Sunday.
