Three Utes earn Pac-12 Honorable Mention


The Pac-12 Conference announced the post season awards for 2023 and Madison Tattini, Marcela Lopez and Kaila Barksdale were all named as Pac-12 Honorable Mentions. 

Tattini, a senior from Lexington, Ill., posted an 11-17 overall singles record between fall and spring sessions. She posted a 7-5 record in the No. 2 singles spot throughout the season. Her and partner, Anastasia Goncharova posted an 8-7 record in doubles all at the No. 1 spot. 

Lopez, a freshman from Frisco, Texas, posted a 15-5 record in singles action with 12 wins at the No. 5 spot in the line up and three wins at the No. 4 spot. She went 5-4 in Pac-12 action. In doubles, her and partner Barksdale posted a 12-5 record all at the No. 3 spot. 

Barksdale, a freshman from San Diego posted a 9-5 record on the season with eight wins at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. Her and partner Lopez posted a 12-5 record all at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. She posted a 3-3 record in Pac-12 action. 

Utah women’s tennis finished out the season with a 13-11 record and posted the most Pac-12 wins since 2015.
