SEATTLE – Washington’s top three singles starters—Han-Chih Lin, Cesar Bouchelaghem, and Dzianis Zharyn—all earned their first career All-Pac-12 Team honors today. The trio were all voted to the Second Team.

The All-Pac-12 Teams are based on voting by the conference’s head coaches. The teams expanded this year from six first-teamers and six second-teamers, to twelve players on each team.

Lin played No. 1 singles all season for the Dawgs. The junior from Chiayi, Taiwan had a 7-12 record at the top spot, and was 15-17 overall. Lin had two big wins over Oregon’s Joshua Charlton, clinching a 4-3 Husky road win in Eugene on Feb. 17. He also knocked off Portland’s 86th-ranked Sema Pankin, during a string where he faced 12 ranked players in 13 matches. Lin also earned 10 dual wins in doubles.

Bouchelaghem had one of the best dual seasons in school history, going 19-2, winning his first 17 singles matches to start the season. Most of those came at the No. 3 spot before he moved up to No. 2 for the final three matches. The sophomore from Pallud, France had two Top-20 wins during the season and got his ranking up to a career-high No. 71 on Apr. 25. Bouchelaghem won two Pac-12 Player of the Week awards, and also played No. 1 doubles with Zharyn, as the pair were ranked as high as No. 44 and went 12-7 at the No. 1 spot.

Zharyn only appeared in one doubles match in 2022, so this was essentially his rookie season, and the Belarusian made a big impact. Zharyn was 10-8 at the No. 2 singles spot and 1-0 at the No. 3 position. He had a crucial victory in UW’s win over Utah (beating No. 85 Franco Capalbo) and he clinched the 4-3 upset of Cal with a three-set victory. Zharyn was ranked a high of No. 111 in singles and with Bouchelaghem, No. 44 in doubles. The duo went 12-7 at the No. 1 doubles spot. Zharyn also earned his first Pac-12 Player of the Week after UW’s win over the Utes.
