Tennis Opens Spring Campaign This Weekend

Syracuse women’s tennis begins their spring season this weekend with a two-match homestand against NJIT and Boston University. The Orange face the Highlanders on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11:00am at Drumlins Tennis Club followed by a 10:00am clash with the Terriers on Sunday, Jan. 22.

Saturday’s match against NJIT will be the first between the two schools. ‘Cuse is 6-9 all-time against the Terriers. 

The Orange squad features six returners, including last year’s NCAA tournament at-large bid doubles pair of Polina Kozyreva and Miyuka Kimoto. The duo fell in the first round to Texas A&M and marked Syracuse’s fifth appearance at the tournament.

Zeynep Erman, Ines Fonte, Shiori Ito, and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya round out the team.

Head Coach Younes Limam and company look to improve upon last years 10-11 record. Following this weekend, Syracuse has another homestand against Cornell and Delaware on Jan. 27 and Jan. 29, before heading to Drexel on Feb. 4 for their first road match. The Orange are set to begin conference play on Feb. 18 against Boston College.
