ANN ARBOR, Mich.Ondrej Styler and Nino Ehrenschneider of the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan men’s tennis team were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, on Tuesday afternoon (May 9). To receive the honor, student-athletes must have completed at least one year of classes and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average.

Styler is the highest-ranked singles player in the Big Ten at No. 8 in the nation. He boasts a 26-4 overall record, a 20-1 dual record and went 6-0 in conference play while also posting a 10-1 mark when playing against other ranked opponents. He was named first-team All-Big Ten in each of his four years ay U-M and was twice named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team, including capturing MVP honors in 2022. A native of Prague, Styler is on a 14-match win streak. In doubles action, he is 20-10 with a 17-7 mark in dual play. He earned his degree two weeks ago from the School of Information with a minor in business administration.

Michigan’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree this season, Ehrenschneider is 10-9 in doubles play with two wins over ranked opponents with partner Patrick Maloney. In singles, Ehrenschneider is 8-5 which includes a 5-1 mark in the Big Ten. He has won his last four singles matches and was ranked No. 54 in singles in the preseason. A native of Berlin, Ehrenschneider is pursuing a degree in environmental studies and a minor in business administration.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 1.
