TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville’s Etienne Donnet fell to Michigan’s No. 17 Ondrej Styler in the second round of the ITA All-American Championships while Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles consolation draw Thursday afternoon at the University of Tulsa.
After upsetting the 18th ranked player in the ITA preseason rankings in the first round on Wednesday, Donnet faced No. 17 Ondrej Styler from Michigan on Thursday. The Louisville senior from Lyon, France lost 6-2 in the first set, but battled in the second set before falling 7-6 (7-5).
In the main draw doubles consolation bracket, Rodrigues and Salle, No. 48 in the ITA doubles rankings, defeated Penn’s 20th-ranked Edoardo Graziani and Kevin Zhu 6-4, 1-6, 10-6. The Louisville pair picked up three straight wins in the qualifying draw before falling in the first round of the main draw on Wednesday.
Rodrigues and Salle will face Florida State’s Youcef Rihane and Alex Bulte on Friday in the consolation quarterfinals.
