Rajecki Advances to Quarterfinals, Earns All-America Status


ORLANDO, Fla. – NC State women’s tennis’s No. 26 Amelia Rajecki advances to the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals after defeating the number one overall seed, Fiona Crawley from UNC by a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 decision.

With her win over Princeton’s Daria Frayman yesterday, Rajecki earned All-America honors in singles and advanced to the round of 16. Today, the junior defeated the number one overall seed of the tournament to advance to the quarterfinal round. She remains as one of eight left in the draw as tomorrow she takes on Georgia Tech’s No. 15 Carol Lee.

Elite Eight will take place tomorrow, Thursday, May 25th, Final Four will be Friday, May 26th and the Championship match will be on Saturday, May 27th.

Amelia Rajecki (NCST) def. #1 Fiona Crawley (UNC) 6-1, 1-6, 6-3

Season Statistics:

Amelia Rajecki currently posts an impressive overall record of 39-10 and 24-4 in dual play. Leading her team, she has continued to break the record for the most single-season wins in singles, previously held at 33 by Sanaa Bhambri in 2011.
