TULSA, Okla. — Husky sophomore transfer Soham Purohit lost a tight three setter today in his second match as a Dawg, ending his run at the ITA All-American Championships in the pre-qualifying second round.
Purohit fell to Taym Alazmeh of Michigan State, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 a day after he picked up a win in his UW debut by defeating Illinois’ Gabrielius Guzauskas.
Cesar Bouchelaghem dropped a 7-6, 6-4 match in the consolation draw to Azuma Visaya of Hawaii.
On Monday, senior Dzianis Zharyn gets his tournament and season started in the qualifying opening round. He’s slated for a 7 a.m. PT start against Patrick Schoen of North Carolina.
