Oregon Tops No. 26 UCSB

EUGENE, Ore.  – Oregon men’s tennis defeated UC Santa Barbara by a score of 4-1 today at the Student Tennis Center.
 
The day started on the outdoor courts, where the Ducks got out to a one-zero lead. Oregon’s No. 1 doubles team Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele put together another strong performance for a 6-3 win on court one. UCSB took court three, leaving the point to be decided on court two. Ivailo Keremedchiev and Jesper Klov-Nilsson clinched it for Oregon with a 6-4 win.
 
Rain delayed the action and forced the match to move indoors after doubles. Play resumed after a quick warm up, and Quinn got a set win on court two to start off a run for Oregon. With the Ducks looking strong on courts two through six, UCSB tied the score with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court one. Oregon regained the lead quickly after Vlad Breazu secured a 6-3, 6-2 win. Ivailo Keremedchiev made it a 3-1 lead, winning 6-3, 6-4.
 
Oregon needed just one more point and looked good in the remaining matches. Jesper Klov-Nilsson found the winner for Oregon, with a marathon sweep 6-4, 6-4. Quinn and Ray Lo went unfinished in the third set.
