No. 61 Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 44 Wisconsin, 6-1


MADISON, Wis.—The No. 61-ranked Penn State women’s tennis team (10-10, 4-4 B1G) dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 44 Wisconsin (14-7, 6-2 B1G) on the road on Friday night. 


DOUBLES 

The Badgers earned the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 2.  

Nittany Lion duo Gabby O’Gorman and Alexandra Nielsen captured a 6-1 victory over Taylor Cataldi and Charmaine Seah on court No 3. 


SINGLES 

Wisconsin built their lead over Penn State on courts No. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6. 

Yvonne Zuffova defeated Xinyu Cai on court No. 2 in straight- sets, 6-1, 6-4, to earn the Nittany Lions a point. 

Court No. 1 hosted Sofiya Chekchylstova and No. 85 ranked Ava Markham. Markham defeated Chekhlystova in the first set, 4-6. Chekhlystova took victory in the second, 7-6, but fell 6-0 in the third.
