No. 14 USC Women’s Tennis Gears Up for Hawaii Invitational

LOS ANGELES – USC women’s tennis has a big weekend of competition in store as the Trojans travel to the Aloha State for the three-day Hawaii Invitational, beginning Thursday, Jan. 5 and continuing through Saturday, Jan. 7 at the UH Tennis Complex in Honolulu, O’ahu. 
 
USC will see action against Iowa State on Friday, Hawaii and Cal on Saturday and Washington State on Sunday. Action will begin at 9 AM HST/11 AM PST each day with doubles matches to be immediately followed by singles action.
 
Live scoring and video will not be available for the matches in Honolulu. 
 
Competing Trojans will include McKenna Koenig, Sloane Morra, Grace Piper, Naomi Cheong, Emma Charney, Isabelle Lee, Gabrielle Lee and Nathalie Rodilosso. USC’s Snow Han, Eryn Cayetano and Madison Sieg will compete concurrently at the ITF Malibu $25K. 
 
The Hawaii Invitational marks the first event for the Trojans this spring, with their home opener set for Jan. 19, 2023. On Thursday Jan. 19th, USC will host LMU and CSUN for a doubleheader at Marks Stadium at 12 PM and 4 PM, respectively.
 
NOTES –

  • In the preseason ITA Division 1 National Team Rankings, USC was No. 14. 
  • The Women of Troy look to improve upon their 18-12, 7-3 record from last season.
  • During the beginning of the 2022 season, USC went on a five-match win streak (it’s best start to a season since 2013)  
  • USC welcomed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country during the fall, with the addition of blue-chip recruits Madison Sieg and Emma Charney, while also adding Princeton Graduate Transfer Nathalie Rodilosso.
